a striped dress in the summertime has me feeling like a pixie.

the title says it all. this dress is from nordstrom, thrifted shoes, scarf from my moms closet in the old days : ).

as summer turns to fall.

well, the sunny days of summer are (even though it seems like it shouldn't be happening) slowly slipping away and turning to fall. this outfit is, in my mind, a mix between summer and fall. this is a tee shirt from old navy, a tank top from target, siler brand jeans (i cut them), leggings that used to be my moms (!), and nike hightops (greco supremes).

me with nothing to do.

well, i have nothing to do right now except blog..or go outside, but it is as hot as.....baked beans out there. i just discovered this amazing story that i think everyone should read:

this story wowed me and made me believe (even more) that there are some things in life that we cannot explain, but in this, there is something beautiful. animals are awesome.

on a simpler note, even though this song isn't new, i really have been enjoying "be ok" by ingrid michaelson. its a really happy and summery song! another song by her that i really enjoy and that is super sweet is "you and i".

so that's it for now. one day real people might read this blog, no just the people in my imagination, but for now, i'm just enjoying sharing myself.

a little research on a fashion founding...mother?

i'm sure many know of the Korean bombshell (well, at least half Korean) and lead singer for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, known as Karen O. i have really been addicted to their music lately so i decided to get to know the fashionista whos voice rocks everyone so hard. Karen was born in south Korea as Karen Lee Orzolek. yes, her father is polish. she later moved to New Jersey. the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have been with interscope records since 2000 and they are still pumping out sleek indie rock tracks like "heads will roll". Karen is known widely for her unique sense of fashion. it is rumored that this is because of her friendship with designer Christian Joy.

an outfit that really stood out to me is the one she wears in the music video for "heads will roll". sorry for the poor quality, this was the best picture i could find.

a summer day.

you have now been introduced to my summer day outfit. this is a thirfted dress, old navy cami, and old navy flats, as well as a thirfted belt. i am a fan of good deals.

the story of this dress is that me and a group of my friends decided that we'd go to the local thrift. i was excited to buy clothing because i always am, and i grabbed this dress randomly without trying it on. to shorten things up, i got home and looked at it more in detail, realizing it is waaaay huge for a girl my size. so i added a belt, and all was good.
